Over the last decade, Costa Rica has become ever more popular with Canadians. More and more flights from many countries have increased dramatically.

For Canadians, Air Canada ‘s subsidiary company, Air Canada Vacations, is adding charter flights direct to Costa Rica and especially the Liberia, Guanacaste area. This is good news for Canadians who’ve desired an easy, more affordable means to travel to Costa Rica, and as well, flying directly into Liberia cuts several hours in travel time to Northern Costa Rica. These charters are exceptionally lower fares than average.

Liberia has rapidly become the hotspot in Costa Rica for business travelers and tourists, especially with the rise in medical travel, as Clinica Biblica, Costa Rica’s largest private hospital, has announced their plans for a new hospital development worth approximately $40 million, in Guanacaste, only a few minutes drive from the Liberia airport. Many Canadians have either invested or are currently considering investment opportunities in Costa Rica. There are 200,000+ expats in Costa Rica, and a large percentage of them are Canadians and the number continues to rise yearly.
